Hops Return to Rip City Radio 620 AM

Hillsboro Hops at Everett Aquasox - First Pitch is Friday June 13th at 7PM on Rip City Radio AM620!

The Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops) and Clear Channel Media + Entertainment have renewed their partnership for the next two years, meaning Rip City Radio 620 will continue to be the team's flagship station. Clear Channel will air all 76 regular season games (plus any postseason games) live.

"I'm happy Clear Channel Media + Entertainment is continuing its partnership with the Hillsboro Hops and having the opportunity to broadcast baseball play-by-play to all fans in the greater Portland Area on Rip City Radio 620," said Robert Dove, Clear Channel Media + Entertainment market president.

The first broadcast will be Friday, June 13th, when the Hops open their season in Everett, Wash. The home opener is Wednesday, June 18th against Salem-Keizer. Both the road opener and home opener will feature special hour-long pregame shows beginning at 6:00 PM. Regular pregame airtime will be 30 minutes prior to the first pitch. Longtime Portland-area sportscaster and Hillsboro resident Rich Burk(@RichBurk1) returns as the Hops' lead broadcaster. This will be his 17th season of professional baseball play-by-play in the area, including five years with the Class-A Portland Rockies (1995-97, '99-00) and 10 years with the Triple-A Portland Beavers (2001-2010). Burk has filled in for three major league clubs (the San Diego Padres, Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays), and during the off-season he calls multiple sports on television for the Pac-12 Networks.

"This is the strongest station I've been on in all my years calling baseball in Portland," said Burk. "It's great that our fans will know where they can find us for at least the next two years."

Burk will again be joined in the booth by veteran sportscaster Matt Richert. Richert has called high school play-by-play for 25 years, including the last five in Hillsboro. He is the voice of Pacific University athletics, and has also called basketball play-by-play for the University of Portland. Richert received the Oregon Athletic Directors Association Sports Media Award in 2004-05.
