Game 9: Oregon State (6-2) vs. Wright State (2-5)
February 28, 2014 | 5:05 p.m. PT
Corvallis, Ore. | Goss Stadium At Coleman Field

Probable Starters: RHP Andrew Moore (0-1, 1.42) vs. RHP Travis Hissong (1-1, 3.98)

Last Game
Kavin Keyes went 4-for-4, Logan Ice drove in two on a double in the fourth and Jake Thompson allowed just two hits and a run in 6 2/3 innings to pace the Beavers past Washington, 3-2, on Monday in Surprise. Keyes singled all four times, and Ice put the Beavers ahead 2-1 in the fourth, eventually scoring the game-winning run when Billy King singled him home later in the inning.

Home Openers
Oregon State has defended its home turf well over the years, winning better than 70 percent of its games all-time. The Beavers have gotten off to great starts over the years and have won their last 10 consecutive home openers and 13 of the last 14.

Against The Horizon League
The Beavers have very little history with the Horizon League, and are 4-0 all-time against Wright State and Illinois-Chicago. The Beavers last met the Raiders at the 2006 Corvallis Regional and defeated Wright State, 5-3, before downing Kansas and Hawai’i en route to the first of two national titles.

As Cold As Ice
One would not belive that Logan Ice is a freshman. The Washington native has been solid for the Beavers this season, and is batting .240 with a double and seven RBI, five of which has come over the last two games. Opponents have also been unable to run on him as he’s tossed out 3-of-5 runners attempting to steal.

Keyes On A Tear
Kavin Keyes has been on a tear over the last three games, tallying eight hits over his last 12 at bats. He has two doubles with three runs batted in and a stolen base during that stretch. The senior has a hit in five of the team’s eight games this season.
