Oregonians likely to decide pot measure

It appears likely that Oregonians will vote on a measure in November to legalize recreational use of marijuana.

The group running the campaign, New Approach Oregon, says it has collected 100,000 petition signatures.  They're required to collect 87,213 by July 3.

The Oregon Secretary of State's Office must still verify the number of signatures collected before the initiative can move forward.

The Control, Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Act strictly regulates marijuana sales and possession. It legalizes the use of marijuana by adults only and taxes marijuana and its products to generate money for education, public safety, drug treatment and drug prevention.
